Connect

Tuesdays 4:15-6pm

at Holy Trinity Weston

Connect is our youth group for 11–16-year-olds. The first hour is for hanging out with friends, with a variety of activities on offer; PS5, Nintendo Switch, table tennis, pool, boardgames, crafts, sweets to buy and sofas to just sit and chat. The second part is our food and faith time, an optional time to eat a meal together and discuss what it means to be a Christian. You don’t have to be a Christian to take part, all viewpoints are valuable. We then play a group game together.

The Venue

Thursdays 8-9:30pm

at The Hope Centre

The Venue is our free youth café for young people aged 15-18 (Year 11+). It’s a warm, relaxed atmosphere for you to come along and chill out with mates, get to know others, play games, use our PS5 or Nintendo Switch, play pool or table tennis, catch up with our team, or even access education or employability support if you’re feeling keen. There’s usually free pizza and hot drinks on offer. We would love to see you there!

Young Leaders

Various

Young Leaders support us in running our groups and events for 7-11 year olds. From playing with children who need a friend, helping with set up and pack down to leading an activity such as a football tournament, it’s a great way for young people to give back to their community. Young leaders will learn new skills to help grow as a person as well as being good for their CV. It’s voluntary so there's no pressure to help every week and it’s a fun community to be a part of. Speak to Matt, Ellie or Carolyn, or come along to Connect or The Venue if you’d like to be a young leader!

SECONDARY SCHOOL's work

Various

Once a week, some of our team go into the local secondary school to meet with young people during their lunch break. From playing Uno to talking about life, we aim to be a supportive adult that young people can talk to. If you see one of our team during lunchtime do come and say hello! Our team also support the local secondary school through mentoring, assemblies, and group work. â€‹

Trips

Various

We run a variety of amazing trips throughout the year for young people, taking a group for fun trips to places like Ninja Warrior, Laserquest, and the New Forest Aqua Park. Trips provide young people with new and exciting opportunities for activities, to develop friendships, and to learn new skills. Come along to our groups and follow our social media pages to look out for our next trip!

DETACHED YOUTH WORK

Various

Detached work is where some of our team go out into the estate, meeting young people in parks and around the neighbourhood to get to know them, finding ways to support them and let them know about our work and other services that might benefit them. We do this in the warmer months when more people are out and we enjoy having a mobile presence in our community. If you see us about, come and say hello!

Residentials

Various

We run a variety of amazing residentials for young people to exciting places like YMCA Fairthorne Manor. Residentials provide young people with new and exciting opportunities for activities, as well as to develop friendships, learn new skills, and develop their independence. Come along to our groups and follow our social media pages to look out for our next residential!
